اَیُّہَا الَّذِیۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا کُتِبَ عَلَیۡکُمُ الصِّیَامُ کَمَا کُتِبَ عَلَی الَّذِیۡنَ مِنۡ قَبۡلِکُمۡ لَعَلَّکُمۡ تَتَّقُوۡنَ ﴿۱۸۳
হে বিশ্বাস স্থাপনকারীগণ! তোমাদের পূর্ববতী লোকদের ন্যায় তোমাদের উপরও সিয়ামকে অপরিহার্য কর্তব্য রূপে নির্ধারণ করা হল যেন তোমরা সংযমশীল হতে পারো।
O you who believe! Observing As-Saum (the fasting) is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, that you may become Al-Muttaqun (the pious - see V. 2:2).
